Our Teachers Believe…

Language Is the Work
Our teachers understand that language is not an add-on; it is the foundation for learning, identity, and access to global, cross-cultural opportunities. They intentionally design instruction that develops bilingualism and biliteracy while deepening students’ academic thinking. They honor students’ home languages and cultures as assets and use language to build connection, confidence, and comprehension.

Intentionality Is By Design
Our teachers approach the curriculum as intellectual and reflective work. They thoughtfully plan standards-aligned units, lessons, and assessments that integrate language objectives, academic content, and culturally responsive practices. Their planning reflects both rigor and responsiveness to the strengths and needs of multilingual learners.

Students Do the Thinking
Our teachers cultivate learning environments where students engage actively in discourse, problem-solving, and inquiry. Through purposeful questioning, structured talk, and flexible grouping, they monitor understanding and adjust instruction in real-time to ensure access and challenge for all learners.

High Expectations Deserve A Human Approach
Our teachers hold ambitious academic expectations while leading with care and consistency. They establish clear routines and affirming classroom systems that promote dignity, agency, and collaboration. Excellence is pursued through structure, relationships, and a belief in every student’s high potential.

Growth Is the Job
Our teachers view reflection and growth as professional responsibilities. They seek feedback, analyze data, collaborate with colleagues, and engage fully in coaching and professional learning. Continuous improvement is embedded in daily practice, not reserved for evaluation cycles.
